My Husband and I purchased our first timeshare in 1990. We were staying at The Bay in Tenerife with my husbands parents who had been owners for six years. We were invited to go to GVC’s latest resort, the Royal Sunset Beach Club which was a hole in the ground and two show apartments.  We bought two weeks straight away and the following year went out to our own resort for the first time.  Our children were aged 2 and 6 at the time.  Since then, we have watched our children grow up in what are now HGV resorts and are now delighted to be watching our grandchildren doing the same things their parents used to do.  

Yes, the maintenance fees have increased over the years but if you compare HGV resorts to accommodation outside of our club, you would pay an awful lot more for two weeks in a resort of the standard we know and expect.  The resorts are in prime locations and many assist with travel arrangements to and from Airports.  The accommodations are immaculate and beautifully furnished. and electrical appliances and TV’s are modern and regularly updated. Since retirement, we are now free to travel whenever we want and generally find a resort that suits our needs.

We have never regretted buying those first two weeks and have increased our points considerably over the years.  The resorts are beautiful, the staff more than accommodating and meeting fellow members all over Europe is a joy and we look forward to many more years travelling around our resorts.
